Flamingo Marina.
Official Master Plan Reveals Bright Future.

For many years, the Flamingo Marina was Costa Rica’s only decent harbor on the Pacific Coast. It was the first deep-water port south of Acupulco. The calm of Potrero Bay, together with its close proximity to abundant marlin and sailfish banks made Flamingo the ideal spot for a marina. However, in 2004, the marina was closed in preparation for a new master plan that would protect the estuary and also provide a considerable upgrade to the marina facilities and services. Yes, it has taken a long time to bring this into fruition, but now we have hope that it will happen soon.  The plan is now in it’s final bidding stages and the news of the winner of the long-awaited concession should be announced after the first of the year.  The government has taken special care in correctly assessing and planning just who can do the best job, and  that what will be built will be an asset to our area.  We want a marine design that is compatible with our now exclusive little area , and one that compliments the infrastructure available.  It will be a major part of our community, and is expected to send real estate values upward, as observed in Jaco and Herradurra with the opening of the Los Suenos marina in the Puntarenas area. Prices in these areas practically doubled overnight.

Opportunities for appreciation are expected to be even greater in Flamingo, given the quality of the views created by Potrero Bay and the wide variety of beach experiences within easy walking distance.

Alegria is especially well positioned, given that it is the only private, resort community within a short walk of the marina.
