Airports
Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport of Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR): Offers excellent international connections to the US and Canada, as well as some Europe and South American countries. Excellent private, bus, taxis, and car rental ground services are readily available. Airlines include American Airlines, Continental, Delta, and United, all based in the USA.
Juan Santamaría International Airport of San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO): Located in Alajuela about 20 km from San José, Costa Rica. The airport serves as a hub for TACA/Lacsa for its international network and for TACA's subsidiary Sansa for its domestic network. With most US and international carriers landing here, this airport also serves as a domestic flight terminal for those wishing to travel within the country itself. Some of the major international airlines that land here include American, United, KLM, Delta, Taca, British Airways, Continental, Cubana, Mexicana, Iberia and American West. Most airlines from European countries connect with flights from Miami. Airlines that do fly to Costa Rica may stop in the Caribbean instead.

Liberia - Flamingo:
Follow signs toward Filaldelfia and Belen. You will pass Filadelfia. At the Belen intersection, take a right and follow signs toward Flamingo and Potrero. You will reach Huacas. Continue following signs toward Flamingo and Potrero. You will drive through Brasilito and reach the beautiful beaches of Flamingo and Potrero. Duration: 1 hour.
San José - Flamingo ( Via Liberia):
If you are coming from San José on the Pan-American Highway #1 North, you will reach Liberia (Duration: 4 hours). At the main intersection turn left and follow signs toward Filaldelfia and Belen. You will pass Filadelfia. At the Belen intersection, take a right and follow signs toward Flamingo and Potrero. You will reach Huacas. Continue following signs toward Flamingo and Potrero. You will drive through Brasilito and reach the beautiful beaches of Flamingo and Potrero. Duration: 1 hour. Total Duration: 5 hours.
San José - Flamingo (Via Santa Cruz):
If you are coming from San José on the Pan-American Highway #1 North, you will reach the "Amistad Bridge" intersection (Note: A Shell gas station on the left-hand side. Duration: Approx. 2.5 hours). Turn left and follow signs toward the "Amistad Bridge" (Puente de la Amistad - in Spanish). You will cross the Tempisque River. Continue to follow the signs toward Nicoya and Santa Cruz. After passing Nicoya, continue toward Santa Cruz. After Santa Cruz, follow the main road toward Belen. At the Belen intersection, take a left and then follow signs toward Flamingo and Potrero. You will reach Huacas. Continue following the signs toward Flamingo and Potrero. You will drive through Brasilito and finally reach the beautiful beaches of Flamingo and Potrero. (Duration: 2 hours). Total Duration: 4.5 hours.
