The original restaurant in Flamingo, Marie's has a little
something for everyone, starting with the best breakfast in

Amberes Restaurant
Casino, Bar and Discoteque - Amberes is a Flamingo
institution, also having been here "since the beginning." A
place to eat and drink 'til the wee hours. Belgian host Hubert
Gysemanns will welcome you nightly to his famous casino, bar and
discotheque. During holidays, it is a favorite spot for native
Costa Ricans from San Jose who come to the beach to celebrate
life.
Angelina's
The latest opening restaurant in the new La Plaza
shoppes on the corner in "downtown" Flamingo, Angelina's is a
"California-style" restaurant and bar open from lunch to dinner,
with specials of pizza (small ones), fresh gourmet seafood, and
designer salads. They also have a bar. With great ambiance
inside, the restaurant overlooks La Plaza.
The Mariner Inn
Host and owner, Larry Barrow will welcome you to this
"bird's nest" bar and restaurant overlooking the marina area.
Also here from the beginning, Larry holds one of the number one
spots for the locals to meet, drink, and watch the yearly Mardi
Gras Parade. He serves also a wide variety of food, served
promptly.
Flamingo Marina
Resort
Chef David Smith, prepares a mixture of authentic Costa Rican
dishes and American cuisine, and the bar boasts a special
signature margaritas. Gallo Pinto breakfasts, lunch (almost) on
the beach, and a second story party bar overlooking the water
make this a great beach restaurant to try.
PleaMar
Nothing is lacking in the view at this tiny Tico restaurant
right on the water at the corner on Playa Portrero. Hamburger,
salads and fish are always on the menu. They even make
spaghetti!
Estero Azul
Also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Estero Azul is an
even smaller open-air restaurant behind PleaMar. Actually, they
are family! Their Shrimp with Rice is excellent..
Bahia Potrero Resort
A variety of dishes with fresh fruits, seafood specialties, rice dishes, pastas, salads, desserts and an excellent wine list.
This is a good bet for a good dinner , poolside the hotel
swimming pool.
In Brasilito
The Happy Snapper
This restaurant on the corner in Brasilito leading to Flamingo,
is the place for people looking for great food any time of day
from breakfast to a late night cocktail. Live entertainment is
featured often, and fresh seafood is their specialty.
Pollo Tropical
This little cantina is a small green building near the bridge,
and owner Miguel and his wife, serve up daily some of the best
Tico-style home cooking around. For about 3,000 colones (around
$5) you get a full meal including a fruit beverage. Their daily
specials consist of about five offerings a day with meat, fish
and chicken.
In Tamarindo
In nearby Tamarindo you’ll discover a variety of dining options and club scenes, from the casual watering hole, to an upscale French bistro. Here are just a few of your options.
La Bella Vida
On
the upper floor of the building where Super Compro is housed.
is a wonderful Italian restaurant which also serves an
incredible Middle Eastern fare! A husband and wife team
offering great food, good prices, and excellent service.
Sunset Lounge
Upstairs at Nogui’s where things get going just before
sunset. Nogui’s has been around for about forty years!!
El Jardin del Eden
Restaurant with a French flair (ironically, the menu is one of the priciest in town, but the hotel is one of the most reasonably priced).
Frutas Trapicales
A great place to pick up every kind of tropical fruit or have it made into a tasty refresco. Also serves sandwiches, hamburgers and cosados.
Lazy Wave Food Company
Just inland from the loop and very popular. The menu changes daily and features seafood plus a few hearty meat concoctions (beef Wellington, jambalaya, etc.).
Shark Bite Deli
Sells great bulging filled baguettes, packed full of meat, cheese, salad, and roasted vegetables. Offers Internet access and a book exchange.
Mama’s Deli
Pannini sandwiches, fresh pasta, soups and homemade pizza.
Fiesta del Mar
Tico food and seafood that is generous, delicious and affordable. This is the only late night option in town.
