Center For the arts.
The beginnings of a Costa Rican Legacy.
The Gallery at Alegria will house a permanent collection of Costa Rican art produced under the auspices of the Alegria Center for the Arts. It will undoubtedly become the highlight of any visit to the Flamingo area.
In June of 2007, Marijose Terán Guardia became the first Costa Rican artist sponsored by the Alegria Center for the Arts. Her painting, titled “Guanacaste” will be the first painting to hang in The Gallery. Donations from private collections and traveling exhibits will also be displayed in The Gallery, creating a constant source of inspiration and education for Alegria residents, visitors and the local community.
In addition to contributing to the permanent collection, sponsored artists will also sell their work through The Gallery with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Center for the Arts.
